Each wearable art piece is individually painted.
I use a variety of fine quality pure silks ranging from fine tissue chiffon to the heavier satin back crepe.
The dyes are imported and steamed into the silk giving a lustrous and permanent finish which with proper care will last a lifetime.
Scarf sizes range from small squares and sashes for hair and neck to large extravagant shawls to dress up a solid coloured dress or pant suit.
Also available are large sarongs, 115cms x 230cms, to use as wraps, skirts or dresses.
“I love to use the natural world as a resource for design and therefore play with designs taken from The Great Barrier reef, Rainforests, Ocean and a variety of flora that has inspired me during my travels.
I mix the colours mostly from the primary’s to create a vast palette dictated by the season’s, my mood or client’s requirements.”
Scarves are overlocked using a good quality embroidery thread which is long lasting and resistant to a hot iron.
Art pieces can be ordered from the collection of photos.
The scarves cannot be reproduced exactly as they are all individually painted.
However, the designs and colours can be closely achieved.
Examples for sale now are represented in The Gallery.
